Formerly Google Ads was known as Google Adword when it launched in 2000, but later Google changed its name From Google Adwords to Google Ads on July 24th, 2018.
it’s contributed US$134.8 billion in 2019 to Alphabet Inc’s total revenues, because of that currently Alphabet Inc’s main source of income is Google Ads.
Google Ads has two different types of pricing models as per below.
1. Pay Per Click Pricing Model
In pay per click pricing model Google Ads will only charges money when any user clicks on your advertisement it will not charge any money for impression of the advertisement.
2. 1000 Impression Pricing Model
In 1000 Impression Pricing Model Google Ads will not charge money for clicks on your advertisement but instead, it will charge a sum of money for every 1000 impression of your advertisement. because of that this pricing model mostly used for increasing awareness of product or brand.
Google ads provide two types of bidding strategy for users to participate in Google Auction.
1. Manual Bidding Strategy
In manual bidding strategy advertiser set maximum bidding amount on ad when it take part in auction and all control of bidding will be in hand of advertiser.
2. Automated Bidding Strategy
It’s an AI-powered automated bidding strategy in which all controls will be in the hand of Google Ads and it will set maximum bidding on your Ad in every auction using Artificial Intelligence and all past performance data of your Google Account. There are 6 types of automated bidding strategies in Google ads. You can choose Automated bidding based on your goal like conversion or traffic to your website.
